How to get involved

1 – Write to your MP NOW!

The most important thing is to write to your MP, and tell them that you support the aims of the Passion for Life campaign, and that you want them to vote accordingly.

If possible, write an original letter using just one or two of the points from this wesite. Keep your letter brief, but make sure you ask where your MP stands on the issues, and that your vote at the next general election will depend on their reply.

This briefing pack from CCFON (Christian Concern For Our Nation) has some excellent exampes of sample letters when writing to MPs (.pdf download).

Passion for Life Postcard.

The simplest way to show your support is to send a copy of the Passion for Life postcard to your MP. If you would like to receive some postcards just send an email to:

Don't forget to include your name, address, and the quantity of postcards you require.

We will send the postcards for you to fill in and sign.

2 - Write to the Prime Minister

and tell him what you think on the issues in the bill.

His postal address is;
10 Downing Street
LondonSW1A 2AA

Or you could send him an email via this webpage

and/or Fax him on 020 7925 0918

3 - Hold a Public Meeting

This is an excellent way of raising awareness in your area.  You can use the opportunity to inform others what the Government intends to force through, and that it's vital that local people write to their MPs urgently.

4 – TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

Please encourage your friends, family, neighbours, workplaces, Churches, societies and everyone else to send in as many letters, and postcards as possible. These will all make a real difference.

Here are some useful resources;

Some excellent briefings from the Christian Institute
This is CARE's excellent 'Fatherhood Bibliography', giving a thorough overview on the uniqueness and importance of Fathers.

Here is a list of the results from adult stem cell research compared with embryonic.  Scientists from both sides of the argument acknowledge that embryonic stem cell research has produced nil results so far - these are very useful points to make to MPs; that research investment should concentrate on the ethical alternatives to using embryos as it is proven to be much more productive and effective.

An excellent briefing here from the Christian Medical Fellowship as a response to the bog standard letter many labour MPs are sending to constituents which has been cut and pasted from a letter to the MPs from Dawn Primarolo, the Minister of state for public health. This can act as a useful letter to rebut MPs arguments and continue the dialogue.
